Lamana Piura
Lamana PIURA is a two-ply Lace yarn made of 100% baby alpaca wool with a meterage of 400 m per 50g. Due to its slightly firmer twist, the yarn has a stable but still extremely soft and silky thread with a delicate fluff.
The alpaca wool for PIURA is sourced from Peru, where the animals are kept in their natural environment in the highlands of the Andes. Our Peruvian production partner is fair-trade certified and a member of the Asociación Internacional de la Alpaca, a non-profit organization that upholds outstanding Alpaca quality standards and ensures economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The local raw wool is spun and dyed directly on site according to the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products.
Lamana PIURA is particularly versatile. When knitted individually, it's great for delicate scarves, and especially lace patterns get a magical look from the light fluff. When worked double-stranded to a Fingering weight, it creates incomparably soft and light garments and accessories for the entire year.
Care: PIURA is hand-washable. We recommend using a very small amount of a neutral, mild wool detergent without enzymes and softeners. The knitted piece should then be dried gently lying flat and protected from direct sunlight.
