About the World Record Project
Knitting for a good cause: The initiators (Susanne Oswald, Veronika Hug, and Miriam Cahannes) have set an ambitious goal: to collect a total of 36,000 pairs of hand-knitted socks. These will be displayed on a 5-kilometer-long clothesline to set a new official world record at the Swiss Yarn Festival 2027. Following the event, all socks will be donated to charities supporting the homeless.
